Downport.com exists to promote Traveller on the web and to help those who are interested in the Traveller community online to find the best content available. To this end, we offer web space on our servers and personalized attention to promoting web authors who wish to publish their material on one of our sites.
Free web sites are offered on a space-available basis. Colin will look at the material you wish to publish and, if it is mostly Traveller, he will assess your megabyte needs and set up an FTP account for you on either Downport.com, PocketEmpires.com or JTAS.net, depending on the content fit with one of those sites. Your site will be accessible by FTP. As part of the package, you will have e-mail addresses, a link from the Portal page, inclusion in the Site Search and your site will be submitted to ODP Traveller category (Google & Netscape searches). Your web address will be www.downport.com/yoursite, www.pocketempires.com/yoursite or www.jtas.net/yoursite. There will be no banners, no pop-ups, no intrusive ads of any kind. We do require that your entry page have the standard Traveller disclaimer found on FFE's website. We would also appreciate a link to the Portal page, but it is not a requirement. We also have virtual domain space available on PocketEmpires.com for a $10 annual fee. This includes a virtual domain name like "Aslan.PocketEmpires.com" or whatever.
